Public Enemy Number One: Christians
The FBI sets a new social precedent in its crusade against Christianity.
The mission of the FBI is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States. -FBI mission statement
Only recently did reading this invoke laughter, at least for me.
As a kid, you’d be hard-pressed to convince me there was no need for federal law enforcement, especially on a Sunday night after watching America’s Most Wanted and hearing about the latest serial killer or kidnapper on the loose.
Back then, most of us considered the feds a necessary product of the gangster era that had evolved into the NFL of law enforcement.
Similarly, after 9/11, I was all for giving the feds funding and authority. I don’t have anything to hide. Just catch those bastards and promise us it will never happen again.
Of course, you had your Ruby Ridge’s and your Waco’s, and some warned of the FBI using their power against the American people. But like many, I believed federal law enforcement was a net positive.
Now, it’s been over 20 years since the Patriot Act was signed into law, and thanks to Edward Snowden, the Twitter Files, and FBI whistleblowers, it’s no longer a conspiracy theory that the feds target everyday Americans.
Unfortunately, the FBI is no longer an exclusive service reserved only for society’s most depraved or elusive offenders.
These days, they’re hunting Christians.
Ex-FBI Agents Blow Whistle on Federal Anti-Christian Expedition
Steve Friend, former FBI agent and whistleblower, said in a recent interview that the academy taught recruits that pro-life activists were a bigger concern than Islamists.
Based on what?
Based on biased information from the Southern Poverty Law Center, a leftist activist media company that lists “Moms for Liberty,” an organization promoting parental rights, as a hate group but refuses to list BLM or Antifa that burned the country down in 2020.
But Friend attended the academy in 2014.
How has the “pro-life threat” incubated over the last ten years?
Kyle Seraphin, another ex-FBI agent turned whistleblower, told Ivory Hecker last year that he obtained a leaked document from sources still within the Bureau, proving the agency targets “Radical Traditional Catholics” (RTCs) and other “far-white nationalists” as threats.
But how do they define “extremist or “nationalist”?
That’s the beauty of it, however they want.
As both Friend and Seraphin mentioned, it’s not about targeting religious beliefs per se, but rather aiming at conservatives that support basic freedoms such as the right to bear arms or limit government that goes hand in hand with Christianity.
In other words, whoever is an enemy of the establishment could potentially find themselves in FBI crosshairs.
Consequences of the Crusade Against Christians
An appropriate coping mechanism for this terrifying revelation would be to say that it’s all internal agency stuff, and we don’t have the full context—a game of telephone. The FBI isn’t actually persecuting Christians.
Praying Grandma Convicted
Meet Rebecca Lavrenz. According to The Post Millenial, she owns a bed and breakfast in Colorado Springs and has a clean record.
On January 6th, 2021, she went to DC to pray and joined a crowd that peacefully entered the Capitol, where she spent about ten minutes before leaving.
Although Lavrenz didn’t assault anyone or break anything, she found herself on the business end of a federal investigation.
Unfortunately, last week, a DC jury found her guilty of four misdemeanor charges, such as entering a restricted area even though the cops waved everyone in.
Looks like someone else might have to bake cookies for her guests back in Colorado, as the praying grandma now faces up to a year in jail and $200,000 in fines.
Pro-Lifers Convicted
Here’s a still shot from a pro-life demonstration at a Nashville abortion clinic in 2021, where protesters blocked the entrance for several hours.
Again, nobody was hurt, and no property was damaged, yet they’re looking at over a decade in prison and a quarter of a million dollars in fines.
Pastor Faces Charges
This is Chris Avell, a pastor at Dad’s Place church in Bryan, Ohio, who leaves the doors unlocked for homeless people.
Now, he’s facing charges for not meeting zoning laws required to shelter people, such as having bedrooms.
The FBI isn’t leading this one, but when the federal government sets a precedent that Christians are public enemy number one, others follow suit.
A New Social Precedent
If praying grandmas, peaceful pro-life activists, and generous pastors potentially get jail time or fines, then we should expect fairly harsh punishments for the person who burned down this 119-year-old Korean church, right? Sounds like a hate crime to me.
Unfortunately, the attack is not an isolated incident.
According to the Family Research Council’s (FRC) annual Hostility Against Churches report, 436 ‘hostile incidents’ against churches were reported last year, which doubled the number reported in 2022 and is up eightfold since 2018.
What about the people who left this trailer of Bibles at an intersection in Tennessee and set it ablaze? Will there be a federal investigation?
I bet they would if it were 50 Qurans.
Should we expect charges against these protesters who interrupted Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral?
Or what about a federal complaint against Disney-owned Hulu for not allowing a Texas church to advertise their new Thursday evening service offering because they consider it “religious indoctrination?
Are these not direct First Amendment infringements? What was that mission statement, again? Something about the Constitution?
A Hope and a Prayer
As bad as things are, there is reason for hope.
Another document Kyle Seraphin shared was the FBI’s Special Agents Advisory Committee (SAAC) Report for 2024, an annual brief documenting agents’ top concerns.
The number one issue for 2024 is leadership pulls agents off VCAC cases (Violent Crimes Against Children) to hunt down praying grandmas instead of folks on John Walsh’s list, resulting in skewed caseloads and stressed agents.
The second issue is the FBI “eGuardians” queue, a reporting system used to track threats and share intelligence, is jammed with requests to harass Christians and everyday Americans instead of uncovering actual ‘Threats to Life’ (TTLs).
It would be nice if more agents stepped up publicly. Still, it's comforting to know there is internal strife at the Bureau over their relentless crusade against Christians and conservative-minded Americans.
And thank the Lord for whistleblowers like Seraphin and Friend.
Hopefully, they’ll inspire others.
Otherwise, God help us.
Christianity is, in its nature, revolutionary. -Walter Rauschenbusch
US Invasion Casualty Of The Week: Jeremy Poou-Caceres
A criminal alien was charged earlier this year with killing two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres by crossfire during a gang shootout while he was out for a walk with his mother, who was injured. A New Jersey judge ordered his deportation in 2022, yet here he is, killing toddlers.
