“The Democrats have a bad plan, and the Republicans have no plan.”
That’s how the saying goes, anyway.
And it makes sense.
Democrats, generally speaking, tend to seek control with executive and legislative actions, while those on the right opt for less government involvement in daily life where possible.
Yet as we’ve discussed in other posts, the left’s need for control is no longer exclusive to law or policy.
In recent years extreme leftism integrated with business, education, and the entertainment industry, to name a few.
For example, since 1974, liberal comedians routinely poke fun at the establishment every weekend on Saturday Night Live.
At least they used to.
Today, the late-night show is the establishment, and their primary focus is no longer to make people laugh.
Fortunately, SNL legend Rob Schneider(1990-1994) spoke out in a recent Glenn Beck interview and described when he realized the classic program went off the deep end.
In 2016 during a cold open (where they start the show in a sketch instead of an introduction) shortly after Hilary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump, troupe member Kate Mckinnon performed “Hallelujah” on the piano in her Clinton get-up.
When the music stopped, viewers awkwardly awaited a punchline.
I hate to crap on my old show,” Schneider said. “I literally prayed, ‘Please have a joke at the end. Don’t do this. Please don’t go down there.’ And there was no joke at the end, and I went, ‘It’s over. It’s over. It’s not going to come back. -Rob Schneider
In place of a joke, Mckinnon only offered, “I’m not giving up, and neither should you, and live from New York, it’s Saturday night.”
SNL ultra-politicized its content, and everyone that didn’t agree was free to change the channel, as far as the SNL crew cared.
But to their credit, these hyper-leftists stick together.
They may be anti-American and brainwashed, but they know the power of teamwork.
Independents and center-right voters don’t have the same need to seek a political clan.
And leftists don’t seem to care if their teammates are wrong from time to time, or at least they’re willing to overlook errors for the greater cause.
Yes, it’s true. Modern leftists occasionally eat their own, usually to gain internet points.
But they can afford to do so. They have the numbers.
Conservatives and independents don’t.
Yet independents and conservative-minded voters continue to bicker with each other rather than form a solid team like the left does.
In that case, does the right deserve to lose by failure to organize on the political battlefield, by tactical standards alone?
Conservatives Attack Daily Wire for Hiring Former Disney Executive
Anyone that remotely follows political news knows of the hot-water content at Walt Disney.
Earlier this year, Disney executive producer Latoya Raveneau admitted during an all-hands meeting that she’s included political content into animations designed for children, specifically her “not-at-all secret gay agenda.”
For this, and other public disputes about Disney employees involved in child predator sting operations, many Americans have concerns about those steering the Walt Disney vessel.
But what about when those people abandon ship?
For people to wake up and quit these toxic companies is ideal, as we talked about last week.
Yet those defectors don’t always find open arms when they try to switch teams.
For example, the conservative media company The Daily Wire recently enlisted former Disney executive Eric Caballero as their new Chief Marketing Officer.
With Caballero’s experience with children’s content and animation, the former big whig is an essential asset for the conservative media groups growing collection of cartoons and other animated programs for children.
Yet some people on the right criticized The Daily Wire for hiring an ex-Disney employee.
But can we bring conservatism into the mainstream if we attack anyone that approaches with a white flag?
It’s hard enough for people to put their egos aside and admit they were wrong, but if they face friction, would-be followers will lose motivation.
Conservative companies should recruit as many of these people as possible to drain talent from the opposing side.
Here’s what Jeremy Boreing had to say about hiring Caballero:
But their loss is our gain—not just in audience, but in talent. After announcing our investment into kids’ entertainment, I have been fielding calls left and right from high-level talent at some of the biggest entertainment companies in the world who are seeking opportunities to come and work with us. We could not be more thrilled to have someone with Eric’s experience and expertise and are confident he will be an instrumental part of continuing our exponential growth. -Jeremy Boreing, Co-CEO, The Daily Wire
The right has a recruitment problem, and some people on the right are just as unforgiving as their leftist counterparts.
How can we claim to want to change the mainstream yet be unwilling to take in political refugees?
Kim Iversen and Matt Walsh Beef
In other Daily Wire news, DW contributor Matt Walsh recently got into a Twitter scuffle with political commentator Kim Iversen.
The argument was over Iversen’s recent tweet in response to Matt Walsh’s post about adolescent top surgery.
Take a look:
After reading through the scuffle, it appears Iversen is coming from a libertarian point of view in that people should be allowed to do what they want and suffer the consequences of their actions.
But she seems to fail to see we’re talking about patients under 18.
I don’t want to revisit the argument specifically, but I’d like to use it to make my overall point:
Most content creators and contributors have their own “thing” they cover. Some focus on international policy, and others report on social issues.
And Matt Walsh’s “thing” is the gender situation.
In June, he released the documentary What is a Woman and wrote the children’s book Johnny the Walrus in response to trans ideas forming in public schools.
On the other hand, Kim Iversen’s “thing” is the pandemic response and establishment media coverage.
What I see is two strong commentators dabbling in each other’s preferred subject matter.
It’s not to say people can’t cover multiple topics, but I’m willing to bet Iversen made the comment off-hand and didn’t see the complete picture.
But both Walsh and Iversen are anti-extreme left and anti-extreme right, for that matter.
And today, anyone that fits that description must band together just as the leftists do.
I don’t agree with Kim Iversen either on this one, but I agree with her far more than I don’t.
And to shut her down for that one comment alone is to participate in the same cancel culture the left perpetrates.
Fight for Common American Beliefs
As anti-American and racist as the far left is, their ability to act as a team surpasses conservatives in the mainstream.
Like many others, Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in 2016 led Kate McKinnon and the SNL producers to exit the comedy business and enter the political arena.
They believe that it’s OK to alienate their audience and the country.
They picked a team and didn’t care how many conservatives or independent fans they lost.
And Biden did the same thing Thursday night with his address, declaring that “MAGA republicans are the threat to our democracy.”
The left puts their mission and team first, regardless of optics, and they aren’t ashamed.
In 2020, blue voters proudly posted Biden/Harris signs in their front yards, while the rest of us opted to leave our lawns politically neutral.
Leftists also possess the trait of proactivity, while those in the center or on the right tend to be reactive.
For example, gun control advocates push for more laws and restrictions, and many on the right compromise rather than fight back.
The left doesn’t compromise.
They lock their arms, cement themselves on roads, and stand firm.
Simply flipping the problem and creating right-wing extremism instead of removing leftism is not the answer.
But to stand up for fundamental American values isn’t extreme.
Fighting back with policy and culture is not extreme.
We’re supposed to share fundamental values and disagree on policy, but that’s gone for now.
Many Americans have no idea how good they have it and what’s at stake.
And if we keep voting for this crap, maybe we deserve everything it brings.
I don’t think the right deserves to lose, but what can we say when we continue to fall for the same garbage?
If Biden promises to wipe away student debt in exchange for votes and we get more of the same, how can we feel sorry for ourselves?
If we can’t stop bickering on Twitter, maybe we deserve to lose.
If we continue to attack conservative companies that forgive and forget, maybe we deserve to lose.
And if we’re too afraid to stand for what we believe in, as the leftists do, maybe we deserve to lose.
At least theoretically speaking.
But I know there’s a reason for independents and conservative-minded people not teaming up.
It’s because they want to mind their own business.
Unfortunately, now is not the time for that.
We must band together in the workplace, entertainment industry, education, and most importantly, the ballot box.
And, of course, we must stare into the camera as Kate Mckinnon did and unapologetically announce:
We aren’t backing down, and neither should you.
